Our story
The idea for Carl & Daniel’s began when Carl and Daniel met during a semester abroad in Bogotá. What started as a casual friendship soon turned into a shared vision. During one of their last classes of the semester, Daniel brought a shirt produced by his father‘s workshop in Barranquilla, on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Unlike many brand shirts, it had a smooth texture, was slightly heavier than usual, and felt overall premium.
Carl then brought several shirts back to Germany, where friends and family quickly shared his enthusiasm. Recognizing the potential, the two decided to turn this into something more: A brand that would connect South America and Europe, bringing high quality clothes from Colombia to Germany.
What makes Carl & Daniel’s truly special is the production. Daniel’s father, Juan, runs the family-owned factory in Barranquilla, that he once founded. This personal involvement ensures that quality and authenticity are not just promises. From the cutting of fabrics to the final stitching, every step reflects years of experience and pride in what we create.
Our materials
Great design starts with great fabrics. Because whats great is meant to last. That’s why we work with premium Peruvian cotton, one of the finest natural fibers in the world. This cotton is known for its softness, long-lasting durability, and natural breathability. Unlike standard cotton, its longer fibers make it smoother to the touch and more resistant to wear.
Through our close partnership with Daniel’s family and their long-standing presence in the Colombian textile industry, we have access to a unique network of suppliers. This allows us to source not only premium Peruvian cotton, but also a range of other high-quality fabrics – from innovative blends to specialty knits – that are rarely available outside of South America. This network gives us the freedom to experiment, refine and expand our collection at any time.
